WHAT IS TAAF? TEXAS AMATEUR ATHLETIC FEDERATION EXPLAINED

· 4 min read · By Stride Nation Elite

The Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) governs amateur athletics for many competitions across Texas — including some track and field meets at the state level.

Not every Stride Nation Elite athlete needs TAAF membership. Our primary pathway runs through AAU. If your athlete competes in TAAF-sanctioned Texas meets, membership may be required — Operations or your coach will confirm.

TAAF offers Texas-specific age divisions and state championship opportunities that complement the AAU circuit for families seeking additional in-state competition.

When TAAF is required, parents register at taaf.com and follow meet-specific entry instructions. Keep membership documentation with your AAU card for check-in.

Our Parent Guide explains all three affiliations — AAU, USATF, and TAAF — in one place for new families.
